PLEASE START US OFF BY INTRODUCING YOURSELF:

Hi! I’m Nicolás Di Tirro, a game developer from Argentina.

I’m currently working on MultiEnding Heroes and previously released Linked Worlds.

I handle most aspects of the game’s development, from programming and writing to game design, marketing, and even some pixel art.

TELL US ABOUT MULTIENDING HEROES.

MultiEnding Heroes is an adventure game that blends elements from classic RPGs with the humor and puzzle solving of point & click games.

As the name implies, there are multiple endings, all determined by your choices throughout the game, this includes using magic or items in specific moments, or even talking to your enemies.

Each run is short, lasting just a few minutes, but the fun comes from discovering every possible outcome.

The idea originated during a GameJam in 2017. The theme was "You're not the hero", so I created a small game where you play as a priest who needs to keep the hero alive. Depending on your choices during combat, you’d get one of five different endings. That concept stuck with me, and after finishing Linked Worlds, I decided to expand on it. MultiEnding Heroes grew from that initial idea into a larger adventure.

HOW HAS THE DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY BEEN

I started working on MultiEnding Heroes in December 2023, developing it during my free time. Progress has been steady, and I’m really happy with how the game is coming together.

WHICH GAME ENGINE DID YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?

I'm using GameMaker Studio mainly because it’s an engine I’m comfortable with, and it's also a great engine for 2D games.

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST DEVELOPMENT HURDLE SO FAR?

Luckily, I have learned a lot from the experience with my previous game, so I'm avoiding a lot of mistakes I previously made (and I made A LOT).

That said, if I had to choose something I struggle with I'd say it's pixel art. Even though the art was done by talented people I found on the internet, I have done the character portraits, some adjustments/recoloring, and a few other things, all of which takes me more time than it would for an experienced artist.

ADVICE FOR FELLOW DEVS?

Plan ahead, break the project into parts, focus on the essentials and cut anything that is not needed or won't add much to the experience. This will help you with your mental health during development.

Also, don't forget about marketing. Most of us developers don't get along with it, but marketing is crucial if you want to reach a big audience.

ANY FINAL THOUGHTS?

Thanks for reading so far!

I love making games as much as I love playing them, and if you also dream of creating games, I believe you can do it.
