PLEASE START US OFF BY INTRODUCING YOURSELF:

We are a team of game developers from Indonesia. Our members hail from Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and South Sulawesi province, so we are a fully remote team from two separate islands in our country.

TELL US ABOUT BAIL FORCE.

Our game, Bail Force: Cyberpunk Bounty Hunters is a 2D action roguelite game in a cyberpunk setting where enemy stats can adapt according to our playing habits, adding a layer of challenge on top of the randomized elements of a traditional roguelite game. The Idea for the game was when our Team Lead wanted to create a story of bounty hunters in a cyberpunk setting but also incorporate romance elements (which will be the central plot of the game and affect endings). You can play as rival bounty hunters, each with different goals.

HOW HAS THE DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY BEEN

Suffice to say we had our ups and downs, but currently we are moving in full gear to finish the game in about 7-8 months.

WHICH GAME ENGINE DID YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?

Our game engine, well we had quite a journey. At first we chose Pixel game Maker MV but due to the performance issues in that engine, we switched and stayed on Game Maker instead due to our member's familiarity to that engine.

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST DEVELOPMENT HURDLE SO FAR?

Funding, but fortunately we finally received the necessary funding now.

ADVICE FOR FELLOW DEVS?

Start small and participate and game jams, our team grew more cohesive and insightful after participating in game jams. Don't overscale and overscope, and be patient.

ANY FINAL THOUGHTS?

We are thankful for the chance we get. Thanks for interviewing us. Here's hoping that our game will be impactful and experience a successul launch.
