Pulsebreaker is a classic survival horror game. Explore environments, collect resources, and fight zombies. Manage your inventory, solve light puzzles, and survive with limited supplies. Includes melee and ranged combat. Single-player only.
I've always loved video games and grew up playing lots of PS1 games. I never actually liked horror (I still don't haha) and I was too much of a scaredy cat to play Resident Evil back in the day. However, when I revisited it years later, I fell in love with the art of the game and the characters. From then on I've always wanted to make my own RE style game. Pulsebreaker is just a culmination of all the skills I've developed over the years.
I've been making games in Game Maker for well over a decade, but this is my first foray into using Unity. I simply chose Unity because there is a lot of community support and resources.
So far the biggest hurdle is my sense of perfectionism. I know this is a cheesy answer, but the fact that I'm such a creative control freak, means I often do and redo a lot of the work until it is "right". This can really drag the development process.
I know this ALSO is about to sound cheesy, but to any aspiring devs I will just tell you to follow what YOU love. Resist the pressure to do something by other people's standards as much as you can. Don't chase trends. If the trends happen to align with what you love, then great--otherwise stay true to yourself.
Final thoughts? I'm just grateful for the exposure and the coverage I've been getting. I hope I can deliver a good game to you all. And God bless.
